Nassau County police say a burglary happened at Blooming Nails and Spa on Westbury Avenue in Carle Place shortly before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
According to police, a man threw a rock through the front glass door then entered the nail salon, stole money and ran off.
The subject is described as a white male, height 5 feet 9 inches or 5 feet 10 inches, 160 pounds with brown hair, and he was wearing a mask.
The manager of Blooming Nails & Spa tells News 12 that about $900 was taken from the cash register.
Leigh Anne Moreira, a customer at the nail salon, said, “It’s very surprising to me. I actually grew up in Carle Place, and I would never suspect something like that happening here.”
News 12 was told the same thing happened at Sunny Nail Club on Voice Road in Carle Place between midnight and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, less than a half a mile away from the other nail salon.
Police have not said if the two burglaries are connected or have given details on how much money was stolen.
Detectives ask anyone with information about either burglary to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or 911.
