Police: Suspect faces upgraded charges in fatal Bay Shore hit-and-run

Authorities say Alexander Cerda has pleaded not guilty.

A man Bay Shore man accused in a deadly hit-and-run crash is facing upgrading charges, including manslaughter, DWI and a dozen more offenses.
Prosecutors say Alexander Cerda stole a car from a home last month, then fatally struck Eric Perez on Main Street.
He then allegedly got out of the vehicle, took pictures of the damage and then sped off.
Cerda has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
