The children of a fallen police officer from Greenlawn got a special start to the school year.

Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo's sons, Austin and Joseph, started school on Wednesday.

Members of the NYPD and Suffolk police joined the boys and their mom Lisa to start their school year with a smile.

As News 12 has reported, Sgt. Tuozzolo was shot and killed in 2016 while responding to a domestic dispute in the Bronx.

Twenty thousand police officers from across the country attended his funeral.
