Police say a 14-year-old student is facing multiple charges after bringing a gun to a high school in Rockville Centre on Friday.
They say it happened at South Side High School. Police did not release the student's name because he is a minor.
The student was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm on school grounds and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
According to police, officers responded to the school after the school received an anonymous tip. Police say the gun was not loaded and the student had no magazine nor ammunition.
The teen was released on an appearance ticket. He is due back in family court on Feb. 8.
