A small plane ran off the runway in East Moriches after the pilot wasn't able to stop.
Police say Nedie Seidu, of Manhattan, was flying a Piper PA 28-161 Warrior 2 from Republic Airport in East Farmingdale when he attempted to land at Lufker Airport around 12:15 p.m.
They say the plane crossed onto Montauk Highway and struck a sign, damaging the wing and propeller.
The FAA says the pilot and one passenger were onboard at the time. There were no injuries.
The FAA is investigating the incident.
