Police are
searching for the owner of a bearded dragon that was found in the street in New
Hyde Park.
Police say
they received a call around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday about a lizard under a garbage
can near Lake Drive.
When
officers arrived, they say the lizard was unresponsive because it was out in
the cold.
The officers
put the lizard in their patrol car to warm it up, before giving it to a
wildlife rehabilitator.
Police say
the lizard appeared to be in good condition and well fed.
Anyone
with information regarding the lizard's owner is asked to call the Third Precinct at 516-573-6300.
