Police shot a man with non-lethal rounds who they say barricaded himself inside a Middle Island home and later pointed a gun at officers.
Suffolk police say they responded to a 911 call about a person who claimed an occupant of a Bailey Road home made suicidal statements.
Police, including members of its Hostage Negotiation Team, maintained a dialogue with the man who was barricaded inside.
