Police have released a sketch of a suspect wanted in connection to a robbery in Merrick Wednesday.

Police have released a sketch of a suspect wanted in connection to a brazen robbery in Merrick Wednesday.
They say a 65-year-old woman left her pocketbook in her car on Petit Avenue when she came home at 1:30 a.m. after a night out with friends.
Police say when the woman went outside to retrieve her bag, she was approached by a man with a knife. He took her bag and escaped.
The bag contained about $200, a credit card and the woman's passport.
The victim did not want to speak on camera, but told News 12 that the robbery was terrifying. She said she remained shaken up several days later.
No injuries were reported.
Police describe him as a dark-skinned man, possibly Latino, who stands approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs around 165 pounds.
Neighbors who spoke with News 12 described the incident as scary, and expressed hope that the suspect would soon be apprehended.
