Westchester County police say they have recovered dozens of stolen catalytic converters.

Police were alerted on Tuesday about a suspected catalytic converter thief.

They located his vehicle in a Home Depot parking lot in New Rochelle. Authorities say that upon seeing the police, the suspect fled.

He left behind a suitcase with three catalytic converters inside - and after searching his car, a total of 36 were recovered.
