Trains are back on track after a person was struck and killed in Wyandanch.
There are reports the victim may have run through the lowered gates to try to beat the oncoming train.
The Long Island Rail Road says an unidentified person was hit by an eastbound train near the Wyandanch station at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Service was suspended for hours between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma.
