A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in Lindenhurst Friday.

It happened just after 6 p.m. on East John Street.

Police say the victim was crossing the road at the intersection of North Indiana Avenue when he was hit.      

His identity has not yet been released.

The driver stayed on the scene and was not injured.
