Police: Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash in Ronkonkoma

Detectives tell News 12 61-year-old Robert Twiford was lying in the roadway of the Long Island Expressway at Exit 60E in Ronkonkoma.

Police say a Melville man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Suffolk.
Detectives tell News 12 61-year-old Robert Twiford was lying in the roadway of the Long Island Expressway at Exit 60E in Ronkonkoma.
That's when police say Twiford was struck by at least one vehicle which then fled the scene.
News 12 has been told the incident happened Monday at 8 p.m.
Twiford was then rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say it has yet to be determined why Twiford was lying in the road.
