Police: Pedestrian killed in fatal crash on LIE

The Long Island Expressway reopened after a fatal crash in Melville on Sunday. Police are trying to determine why a pedestrian was in the eastbound lanes when a box truck hit and killed the victim.

The Long Island Expressway reopened after a fatal crash in Melville on Sunday.
Police are trying to determine why a pedestrian was in the eastbound lanes when a box truck hit and killed the victim.
The victim's identity has not being released, but News 12 was told the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver was not injured.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to call Suffolk's Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
