A police officer was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a fiery crash in North Babylon Friday.
Police say DaSean Player was speeding in a Nissan on Woods Road when he ran a stop sign and hit a marked police cruiser at the intersection of Elkton Lane.
They say Player then lost control and crashed into a home before his vehicle caught fire.
The fire spread to the home before they were put out. Police say the Player’s passenger, Steven Glover, fled from the scene and then kicked and spit at the officer, claiming he had the coronavirus.
Player is facing multiple drug charges, as well as a reckless driving charge.
Glover is facing several drug charges, attempted assault and resisting arrest.
