Police say an occupied school bus was struck in a
hit-and-run on the eastbound Southern State Parkway in West Babylon.

The accident happened around 8 a.m. by Belmont Avenue.

Police say two vehicles were
involved, and a school bus was rear-ended by a dark sedan. The sedan fled the
scene.

Children were on the bus, but there were no injuries, according
to police.

All right time. Now for another look at your hyper local forecast and Alex, we are expecting rain to move through and also some pretty, pretty bad winds. Yeah, the late afternoon, the evening, the overnight, it's gonna be really rough, but it's not bad out there now. So, run your errands and do what you have to do. It's actually a pretty good morning. But by the end of the day, 2 to 4 inches of rain that's gonna bring some street flooding and wind gusts 40 to 60 MPH. We're expecting some power outages with that. So let's got you through it. So majority of the morning, we're just looking at sprinkles around lunchtime, some pockets of heavy rain. Wind isn't really too bad here yet and the rain is scattered. I am expecting though that you will absolutely need the umbrella by noon time and the rain will continue throughout the afternoon. Throughout the evening, there will be a few little breaks, but a lot of this rain is very persistent. This is 6 p.m. Now we're starting to get in on a little bit of wind about 30 mile per hour winds at six o'clock, 78 o'clock. Now we're upgrading to almost 40 mile per hour winds. There's some break between the heaviest rain. We probably have our first round in the afternoon and our second round in the evening time, this is 11 o'clock at night. A squall line sets up across the island. I think it really gets its act together somewhere over eastern Nassau County or Western Suffolk. And then it just pushes through very slowly overnight. So, while we're sleeping tonight, we dealing with some really decent downpours and rumbles of thunder as well as the wind. It's going to be ridiculous. So again, a little rain this morning, but not much. You see the rain totals by four o'clock or still under an inch for many of us. But there could be some localized flooding around dinner time. Here's what one model has for the heaviest rain. So it kind of sets it up more to Nassau and Western Suffolk where you see the red color that's localized flooding without a doubt on your streets. This is another model and some really solid heavy rain, but this is a little bit more toward Western Suffolk. So expect the rain all the way through the evening. It's 100% guarantee. And then for morning commuters tomorrow, early morning, we still have some issues with rain. But by the time you get to the mid-morning, it's out of here and it is still breezy on Monday, it'll be sunny and it will be windy all day. 45 is your high feels like 30. So, and the whole work week looks dry. So once we get through today, it's gonna really clear out the air, that's for sure.
