A mother was arrested for leaving four children alone in a car while she shopped at a Walmart in East Meadow Thursday, police say.
Police say Ilania Rios went into the store on Hempstead Turnpike, leaving the children, who are 7 and younger, alone in the vehicle.
The children were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Rios is facing four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and will be arraigned on Friday.
