Police: Missing paddle boarder found dead near Jones Beach Inlet

A paddle boarder who went missing over the weekend has been found dead. The Coast Guard tells News 12 they received a call around 6:45 a.m. from a boat that a body and paddle boat were spotted.

A paddle boarder who went missing over the weekend has been found dead.
The Coast Guard tells News 12 they received a call around 6:45 a.m. from a boat that a body and paddle boat were spotted.
Nassau police say the body was found about 20 miles off the Jones Beach Inlet.
News 12 has learned the body has been identified as that of Gary Turkel, 41. As News 12 has reported, Turkel went missing Sunday afternoon off Atlantic Beach while paddle boarding.
When Turkel went missing, it prompted a huge search from officials, friends, family and volunteers.
