A 41-year-old Middle Island man accused of driving drunk was arrested early Saturday morning in Hampton Bays.

Police say they responded to reports of a car heading south on Flanders Road, crashing into a traffic sign and continuing to drive.

Officers spotted the car about a mile away swerving and driving far below the speed limit.

Police say they arrested the driver, Daniel Paute Quichimbo, after determining he was drunk. He was then charged with aggravated DWI.

No injuries were reported, according to authorities.
