Police are looking for a masked gunman who was caught on surveillance video allegedly robbing two convenience stores in Nassau.
Police say that the gunman robbed Fast Break Convenience Store on Merrick Avenue in Merrick at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Workers say the armed man stole hundreds of dollars in cash.
At around 2 a.m., police believe the same man robbed a 7-Eleven on Atlantic Avenue in Baldwin. Surveillance video allegedly shows the man gesturing with his gun and demanding money. The store manager tells News 12 that he was able to flee with nearly $800.
As News 12 has reported about two weeks ago, three other 24-hour convenience stores were held up in East Meadow, Valley Stream and Freeport. Nassau police spokesman Ken Lack says it's the same man behind the mask.
Anyone with information about the robberies is urged to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
