Police say a Deer Park woman found a man's body at the foot of her driveway Thursday afternoon.
They say she saw the body lying partially in her driveway and partially on Old Country Road around 1:30 p.m.
Authorities say the death appears to be criminal in nature. The victim was stabbed -- but police say it did not appear that the stabbing happened at the same location.
Suffolk Detective Lt. Kevin Beyrer says it's unclear how the man got to this location.
"We do not believe this was the crime scene," Beyrer says. "We do not know where the crime scene was. This is a very active investigation."
Police say they have preliminary information on the man's identity but were not immediately releasing it.
