Suffolk police have arrested a man they say sexually abused children who were in his wife's care at their home.
Detectives say three girls were sexually abused by 52-year-old Angel Tacuri, of Patchogue, between 2010 and 2015. They say the children were between the ages of 3 and 8.
Police say the home on North Ocean Avenue was the site of an unlicensed day care center.
The children came forward after Tacuri was arrested in January on charges of first-degree sexual abuse in connection to an incident involving a then-7-year-old girl in 2010.
"We recognize the amount of courage that it took for these victims to come forward," says Detective Lt. Scott Welshimer. "We want people to know they're not alone."
Police say following the January arrest, the special victims section identified the three additional victims.
Tacuri is now charged with two counts of course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree, one count of sexual abuse and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Police ask anyone who brought their child to the home to contact them at 631-852-6531.
