Police say a man was seriously hurt following a shooting in Wyandanch.

Police say the incident happened Wednesday just after 7 p.m. on South 31st Street, north of Brooklyn Avenue.

News 12 has been told two men got into a verbal fight, things escalated and one of the men pulled a gun from under his shirt and shot the other. The man fled on foot.

The victim, from Central Islip, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to be OK.
