A man was killed in a fatal crash in North Bellport late Friday, officials say.
Police say a 77-year-old man driving a Lincoln sedan was hit from behind by a GMC Sierra near Exit 55 in the eastbound lanes on Sunrise Highway around 9:45 p.m.
The Lincoln went onto the center median and struck a divider. The Sierra kept going for about 100 feet and then crashed into a concrete pillar under the Sill Road overpass.
The driver of the Sierra was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released.
The 77-year-old man was treated for minor injuries.
Police say it was a dangerous night on Suffolk roads as a Huntington Station man was also hit by a sanitation truck.
Officials have identified him as 61-year-old Guillermo Ramirez. He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say no charges have been filed in either of these incidents.
