A man was killed in a crash on the Southern State Parkway Friday in North Massapequa, police say.
It happened at around 2 p.m. on the eastbound side near Exit 29 by Hicksville Road.
Police say two vehicles, a Toyota Camry and a Chevrolet Colorado, were involved in the crash. The Chevrolet Colorado was overturned.
The driver of the overturned vehicle, 57-year-old Thomas Bayer, of Lindenhurst, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
The operator of the Toyota Camry was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
The crash had backed up traffic for miles on the parkway.
