Police are searching for a man behind an attempted carjacking in Riverhead.
Official say the man drove the car to a wooded area off Kroemer Avenue and told the victim to get out.
When the victim refused, police say the suspect pulled out a baseball bat and started smashing the car.
The victim ran off and called police.
