Police say a man was arrested after plowing his car into a home in Suffolk and then fleeing the scene.
It happened Thursday night around 9 p.m. According to police, Middle Island resident Kai Carpenter lost control of his 2009 Infiniti and struck a house on East Forks Road in Bay Shore around 9 p.m.
Police say Carpenter fled the scene of the crash, but was apprehended a short distance away.
No injuries were reported, but photos show significant damage to the home. Police say a building inspector with the Town of Islip checked out the home.
Carpenter, 26, is charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana.
