According to detectives, a motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Wantagh Avenue around 1:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon, and collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck near the intersection of Lea Ann Terrace.

The cyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead just after 2 p.m.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene without any major injuries.

An investigation is currently ongoing.
