Police: Man drowns in Hempstead Lake while paddleboarding with kids

Police say 39-year-old Jing Li was out on the water with his two young children when their paddleboard capsized.

State police say a Queens man died in a drowning accident in Hempstead Lake Sunday evening.

Police say 39-year-old Jing Li was out on the water with his two young children when their paddleboard capsized.

Li was found shortly after going under and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

News 12 is told the kids were found safe by a nearby kayaker.
