Police in Wayne say a man was caught in the act of trying to rob a Starbucks.
The incident happened Monday around 3:34 a.m. when police responded to a report of a burglar alarm at the Willowbrook area Starbucks on Route 23.
According to police, they saw a man, later identified as Jonathan Roman, 35, of Paterson, inside the drive-thru window when they first arrived.
Officers later found Roman hiding in a store room and took him into custody.
Starbucks management says over $500 was missing from the registers, but found stashed in a refrigerator.
Roman was charged with burglary and attempted theft. He was charged on a warrant and placed in Passaic County Jail pending arraignment.
