Police: Man arrested for DWI after fleeing Baldwin crash

Police have arrested a man for DWI after a crash that injured three people in Baldwin.
According to police, a car was stopped at a red light on Grand Avenue at Milburn Avenue when it was struck from behind.
The driver of the truck involved, identified as Roy Gomez, 39, of West Hempstead, fled the scene, police say.
Around 3:30 a.m., police say Gomez was found sleeping in a boat in Freeport and arrested.
All three injured victims were transported to a hospital. Police say a 65-year-old male sustained serious injuries, the female driver and a backseat male passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Gomez was charged with assault, DWI , leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
