A Hempstead man is accused of burglarizing three churches throughout Nassau County, one of them repeatedly.
Police say 29-year-old Denis Alvarado was arrested Sunday morning for stealing from donation boxes at St. Hyacinth Church in Glen Head.
Officials say they were called and chased the suspect into the woods before he was arrested.
News 12 was told Alvarado burglarized the same church three other times over the past two years.
Police also linked Alvarado to burglaries at St Aidan's Church in WIlliston Park and St. Patrick's Church in Glen Cove.
Alvarado is charged with six counts of burglary. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
