Police raided a house in Bayport they say was the center of a heroin dealing operation Friday.Police had conducted a four-month investigation into drug activity right across from the James Wilson Middle School and the Sylvan Avenue Elementary School. In the raid, detectives recovered 284 bags of heroin packed for sale and found more than 3,000 in cash in the house on Barrett Avenue. Police say the drugs have a street value of about $3,000.
Anthony Campos, 22, was arrested in the raid. However, police say he was only charged with marijuana possession and was served an appearance ticket. His brother, 25-year-old Joseph Campos, was the actual target of the sting operation. Police say Campos was observed making numerous sales to undercover officers. He was arrested at a relative?s home in Farmingville. Joseph Campos was charged with nine felonies in connection with the case and is being held on $160,000 bail.
