Police are cracking down on impaired drivers this Labor Day weekend, and several arrests have already been made as of Saturday morning.
Authorities set up a sobriety checkpoint on Route 347 by Mount Pleasant Road in Hauppauge overnight.
News 12 is told that three drivers were arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated, and two others were charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs.
Officials say that marine police will also be patrolling Long Island's waterways to check for drunken boaters this holiday weekend.
