Police arrested a Lynbrook woman who was allegedly driving drunk when she struck another car, killing the driver Friday night.

Police say Patricia Bregel, 33, was driving while intoxicated along Atlantic Avenue in East Rockaway when she slammed into a blue Chevy Malibu, nearly splitting it in half.

The driver of the Chevy, 35-year-old Timothy Motherway, of East Rockaway, died of his injuries two hours after the crash. The accident happened as the victim was pulling into the parking lot of his building.

Bregel was also injured in the crash. She was arraigned in her hospital bed on DWI and manslaughter charges.
