Two shootings in Central Islip Thursday night have neighbors concerned for their safety.
Police confirm that a call came in at around 9:15 p.m. about shots fired into a home on Third Avenue. Occupants of the home told News 12 that about nine shots were fired at the home. No one was hit.
Homeowner Jorge Aguilar's young son says he was sitting on their couch watching TV as the bullets whizzed by his head.
Hours later, neighbors say shots rang out at around 3 a.m. near Brightside Avenue and Hazel Street.
No arrests have been made.
In June, a teenager was shot and killed in the same Central Islip neighborhood. That shooting remains unsolved.
