Police: Hicksville man assaulted woman while holding infant child, fought officers

Officers say Peter Rello, 30, got into an argument with a 29-year-old woman that escalated to him shoving the victim, and putting his hands around her throat.

A Hicksville man is under arrest for allegedly assaulting a woman while holding an infant child.
Officers say Peter Rello, 30, got into an argument with a 29-year-old woman that escalated to him shoving the victim, and putting his hands around her throat.
Police say this also occurred while the man was holding his infant. Rello then allegedly broke things around the North Bellmore house before running off. The woman called 911.
Police were notified Friday afternoon that Rello had retuned to the North Bellmore home, officials said. He allegedly ran off, but officers chased after him.
Rello is accused of trying to fight off the officers, injuring one of them in the arm area. The officers was hospitalized but is OK.
Rello now faces a slew of charges in court Saturday.
