A Hempstead mother has been charged under Leandra's Law for allegedly driving drunk with her teenage son in the car.
Alondra Reyes Gonzalez was pulled over on Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the 31-year-old was intoxicated and did not have her headlights on. They say her 14-year-old son and a 22-year-old were in the vehicle.
The teen was released to his father.
The woman was charged with driving while intoxicated under Leandra's Law, endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated, unlicensed operation and insufficient headlamps.
