Police say a Hempstead woman is facing multiple charges for driving drunk with her toddler inside the vehicle, striking two cars and then leaving the scene Wednesday in Garden City.
Authorities say officers responded to Davis Avenue just after 5 p.m. due to a report of a Honda SUV hitting a Nissan Sentra and then driving off.
Police arrested 35-year-old Monique Williams shortly after the crash.
Officers determined she was drunk and discovered that her 3-year-old daughter was inside the car.
Police say the investigation revealed that Williams also hit another car prior to the crash on Davis Avenue.
The child and the driver of the Nissan were hospitalized.
Both are expected to be OK, according to authorities.
