A Bay Shore man's heart was set on fire, so police say he retaliated in turn by setting two of his ex-girlfriends' possessions ablaze.
Shawn Aaron, 30, was arrested Tuesday and charged with arson and conspiracy. Over the past couple months, police say Aaron twice paid accomplices to set fires.
Paul Newman, the ex-husband of the latest victim, say a person Aaron hired set his ex-wife's car on fire as it sat in her Colorado Avenue driveway. Police say a mailbox was lit in the other incident.
The man Aaron allegedly hired to set the fires was arrested and charged with arson.
