Police: Greenport man ‘not happy’ with fence threatens construction worker with machete

A Greenport man accused of threatening to kill a construction worker with a machete was arrested on Saturday, according to police.

Authorities say 44-year-old Roberto Bachez-Reyes “was not happy” about a fence being built on 2nd Street.

Officers arrested him nearby after he approached the worker, brandished the machete and made his threat.

No other details have been released.
