Police: East Meadow man arrested for assaulting officer during traffic stop
Authorities say the officer was injured and had to be hospitalized.

An East Meadow man was arrested for assaulting an officer during a traffic stop Friday afternoon in North Bellmore.
Detectives said officers were on patrol when they observed a 2002 Ford Taurus operating with an unauthorized registration on Bellmore Road.
They pulled over 20-year-old Jaden Paftinos. Officers said he then refused multiple orders and became physically resistant.
Paftinos injured an officer during the arrest, according to police. That officer had to be hospitalized.
Authorities said Paftinos was expected to face a judge on Saturday.
The officer is expected to be OK.
