A woman is accused of driving while intoxicated and hitting a bicyclist in Nassau, then leaving the scene.
Police say Katrina Yevoli, 30, struck a man on a bike on Old Country Road in Hicksville shortly before 6 a.m. Friday. The victim was struck from behind in the area of Raymond Street, police say.
Investigators say Yevoli fled the scene, but eventually returned after a witness stopped her. Officers who responded to the scene say Yevoli was intoxicated and was arrested.
The 49-year-old bicyclist is being treated for a broken collarbone and sprained ankle.
Yevoli, of Islip Terrace, is being charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and reckless assault.
