A Center Moriches father is accused of driving drunk with his 3-year-old and 4-year-old sons in the backseat, and police say he fell asleep at a fast food drive-thru.
Police say 29-year-old Miguel Alvarado-Gonzales fell asleep behind the wheel in the McDonald's drive-thru lane in Farmingville early Sunday morning.
An employee called 911 and when an officer arrived, the suspect allegedly tried taking off.
But he didn't make it far. Police tell News 12 he was pulled over at a gas station about a block away.
Alvarado-Gonzales was arrested and faces several charges including DWI under Leandra's Law. The boys were released to their mother.
As he was being led to court Sunday, News 12 asked if he remembered falling asleep behind the wheel. Alvarado-Gonzales replied, "No."
