Police are looking for the thieves behind a brazen armed robbery on the Sagtikos Parkway in the Brentwood area.
It happened Thursday around 9:15 p.m. Investigators say a burgundy-colored 2016 Land Rover was heading east on the Southern State Parkway near Exit 29 when a "confrontation" began involving two other vehicles, a white BMW SUV and a car described only as a light-colored sedan.
Police say the BMW and the sedan boxed in the Land Rover and forced it to stop on the northbound ramp for the LIE eastbound service road.
According to police, a passenger got out of one of the aggressor vehicles, brandished a gun and stole a handbag that was in the Land Rover.
Descriptions of the suspects were not provided by police.
Anyone with information is urged to call New York State Police at 631-756-3300.
