Police: Driver wanted for killing 2 pedestrians in Farmingville car crash

Police say Ekrem Sahinbey Polat and Battal Koc were crossing Horseblock Road at around 11:20 p.m. when the vehicle crashed into them.

Police are searching for a driver accused of killing two pedestrians Friday in Farmingville.
Police say Ekrem Sahinbey Polat and Battal Koc were crossing Horseblock Road at around 11:20 p.m. when the vehicle crashed into them.
Polat, 27, of Middle Island, was pronounced dead at the scene. Koc, 38, of Bay Shore, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and pronounced dead.
Officers say the vehicle that hit them was a light-colored SUV. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact police.
