A Suffolk police dog helped sniff out the suspects wanted for allegedly robbing a pizza deliveryman on New Year's Day in Medford.
Police say a 22-year-old Coram man was delivering a pie to Dunbar Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. when he was approached by five males. The deliveryman dropped the pizza and attempted to flee, and a struggle ensued, according to police. The victim was able to get into his car and drive away.
Suffolk Canine Section Officer Kenneth O'Brien and his dog, Dodge, located a vehicle on Granny Road in Medford, and two males were subsequently arrested on second-degree robbery charges.
One suspect was identified as 17-year-old Joel Elam, of Medford. The second suspect was not identified due to his juvenile status.
