Police say a man has been detained following a crash in Patchogue on Wednesday.

The incident happened at 3:40 p.m. A little while later, police found the car abandoned after a crash.

News 12 was on scene at a business called The Barn, where there were multiple officers and crime scene unit investigators.

Police confirm one person was detained, and the woman was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Police say the two people involved knew each other, but their names have not been released. They say charges may be pending.
