Police say a convicted sex offender was arrested after he was found naked in a car with a teenage boy.
Police say an officer noticed a vehicle parked in a dark area of the Fort Salonga Shopping Center just after midnight Thursday morning. Investigators say when the officer approached the car, he discovered 48-year-old Kieran Bunce, of Melville, and a 14-year-old boy inside with their clothes off.
Investigators say Bunce met the teen through an app called "Grindr."
"We had agreed to meet to have sex. I told him I was 18, and I knew he was in his 40s," the teen said in a written statement to police.
Bunce's attorney and parents had no comment for News 12 Long Island.
Bunce is a Level 1 sex offender. He was convicted of sexual misconduct involving a 16-year-old girl in 2004, but received only probation.
Bunce pleaded not guilty to three counts of criminal sex act and also endangering the welfare of a child. He's being held on $100,000 cash bail.
Detectives say they believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information is urged to call Suffolk police at 631-854-8452.
