A male was seriously injured Thursday after being assaulted by a blunt, possibly sharp, object in Long Beach, according to the city's police commissioner.
It happened on Arizona Avenue at around 5:50 a.m.
Long Beach Police Commissioner Richard DePalma says the victim was transported to a hospital in serious condition with injuries to his head and upper body.
The suspect fled and no arrests have been made.
