Police are searching for a team of burglars that is targeting senior citizens in Nassau County.
John Destacio, of Hicksville, says a man knocked on his door, introduced himself as his former neighbor who now works for Nassau County, and offered to cut down a tree in Destacio?s yard.
Police say while Destacio was distracted, an accomplice of the alleged county employee snuck into the house and stole cash and jewelry.
Investigators say the burglars targeted two other houses in New Hyde Park and in Westbury. Police say in all three cases, the victims were over 80 years old.
